Creative Foraging with C.U.R.B.

Livable Futures welcomed artist and activist Candace Thompson and her Collaborative Urban Resilience Banquet (The C.U.R.B.) project. C.U.R.B. last fall. They uses the act of urban foraging and the projected "what if" disaster scenarios of climate change to examine critical issues around food and food sovereignty, land access, environmental remediation, multi-species interdependence, and right relationship(s) with the (un)natural world.

Thompson's field work observations and citizen science experiments are documented via the project's instagram handle, @the_c_u_r_b and shared at a series of seasonal community meals foraged largely from the city streets. This project is supported by the More Art Engaging Artists Fund, the Culture Push Associated Artists Program, and Residency Unlimited's Dirt and Debt Program.
